Install Datatrax in your Salesforce org
This guide walks a Salesforce System Administrator through installing the Datatrax package, configuring it with your license credentials, and submitting your first data load. The whole process takes about 15 minutes.
Before you begin
- System Administrator profile in the target Salesforce org (production or sandbox)
- An active Datatrax account — start a free 14-day trial if you don't have one
- Ability to create an External Client App in your Salesforce org's Setup
What you'll install
The Datatrax Salesforce package adds the following to your org:
- Data Load Request — the object your users fill out to submit a load job
- Data Load Mapping — reusable templates that map CSV columns to Salesforce fields
- Datatrax Settings — a custom setting that stores your license credentials
- Datatrax Flow — an autolaunched flow that notifies the Datatrax processing service when a request is submitted
Steps
Add the Datatrax Unlocked Package to your Salesforce org using the direct install URL.
Create a Connected App in your Salesforce org and retrieve your Consumer Key and Consumer Secret.
Enter your license credentials into Datatrax Settings, then authorize Datatrax to write results back to your org via OAuth.
Define a column mapping that tells Datatrax how to translate your CSV into Salesforce fields.
Attach a CSV to a Data Load Request and watch Datatrax process it end to end.
Manage permissions and control which users can access Datatrax and run different operations.
